{"id":24469,"date":"2020-09-21T19:28:55","date_gmt":"2020-09-21T11:28:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hdcglobal.com\/?p=24469"},"modified":"2020-09-21T19:28:55","modified_gmt":"2020-09-21T11:28:55","slug":"perlis-must-focus-on-high-value-investments-hi-tech-industries-azmin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hdcglobal.com\/ms\/2020\/09\/21\/perlis-must-focus-on-high-value-investments-hi-tech-industries-azmin\/","title":{"rendered":"Perlis must focus on high-value investments, hi-tech industries: Azmin"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<p>KANGAR, Sept 5 \u2013 The Federal government hopes the Perlis state government gives more focus on high-value investments and high-technology industries to reduce dependency on foreign labour.<\/p>\n<p>Senior Minister and Minister of International Trade and Industry\u00a0Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said it is time for the state government to shift to high-technology industries as the sector is\u00a0capable of generating high-quality jobs for the residents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe, at the Federal government is now focusing on efforts to increase skills in the workforce through\u00a0reskilling and upskilling\u00a0to meet the industry demand.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<div class=\"mx-auto mb-4\">\n<div id=\"jssor_1860348855141\" data-jssor-slider=\"1\">\n<div>\n<div data-scale-ratio=\"1\">\n<div data-u=\"slides\">\n<div>\u201cCurrently, we are moving into IR 4.0 (Industrial Revolution 4.0), automation industry, robotics and others.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<p>\u201cIn fact, we are encouraging the Small and Medium Industries\u00a0to adapt to new technologies so that they can increase productivity and production,\u201d he said during a courtesy visit to Perlis Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azlan Man at the State Legislative Assembly Complex\u00a0near here, today.<\/p>\n<p>Mohamed Azmin said Malaysia is part of the global supply chain and hence, the country must immediately accommodate the industry demand with the adaptation of new\u00a0technologies so as not to lag behind.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<p>He said Perlis\u2019\u00a0residents have huge potential if given the encouragement and support and he is confident the state has the ability to emerge as one of the important states in terms of contribution to the country\u2019s gross domestic product one day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<div id=\"bernama_mb_mid2\"><\/div>\n<p>In another development, Mohamed Azmin\u00a0urged the Selangor state government to take more drastic action on any parties that caused the contamination of the river which affected water usage for the domestic users in the state.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe\u00a0Selangor state administration must take firm action because the contamination and disruption of water supply can cause huge impact not only on users but also on industries and the economy\u00a0of the nation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-12 col-md-12 col-lg-12 mt-4 px-sm-0 px-md-5 px-lg-15 text-dark text-justify\">\n<p>\u201c(From) my experience as the Selangor Menteri Besar\u00a0previously, was that I took\u00a0firm action by not only closing the factories sited along the river bank (illegal factories)\u00a0but also dragged\u00a0the wrongdoers to court on their irresponsible actions,\u201d said Mohamed Azmin, who was formerly the Selangor Menteri\u00a0Besar from\u00a02014 to 2018.<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;
