Kosovo Deputy Minister Visits Malaysia To Strengthen Trade And Halal Ties

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of Kosovo, Kreshnik Ahmeti, is on a two-day working visit to Malaysia from July 24 to 25, 2025, following the official visit by Kosovo President Dr Vjosa Osmani Sadriu in May.

Ahmeti is scheduled to meet Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Datuk Mohamad Alamin for discussions on trade, investment, Islamic finance, the halal industry and tourism, alongside regional and international issues of mutual concern.

His itinerary also includes meetings with the Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry and the Chairman of the Parliamentary Special Select Committee on International Relations and International Trade. Ahmeti is also expected to engage with the Halal Development Corporation to explore collaboration opportunities in the halal sector.

Bilateral trade between Malaysia and Kosovo stood at RM28.55 million (US$6.26 million) in 2024, with Malaysia exporting RM25.92 million worth of goods, mainly palm oil, electrical and electronic products and manufactured goods, while imports from Kosovo were valued at RM2.63 million, primarily raw materials and semi-precious stones.
