Executive, Sectoral Development

Job Purpose:

• To execute key activities and tasks identified within the sectoral programs and related initiatives (i.e. development of technical documents i.e roadmaps, insights, modules, implementation of sectoral programs not limited to sectoral working groups, and involvement in the development of Malaysia standards in both local and international.

Key tasks and activities:

Specific duties – Provides preliminary studies on selected or requested sectors or sub sectors. Manage relationship with subject matter experts etc especially for the Sectoral Working Group. Provide basic advisory to companies seeking information about Halal. Contribute to enhance overall project’s execution processes, delivery, impact etc.

  • Specific projects – as a committee members under any sectoral development by other agencies
  • Undertake duties as directed / requested by the project manager to support the delivery and implementation of projects (e.g. coordination of activities, purchases, logistic etc.)
  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools
  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders
  • Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
  • Handle requests for information and data
  • Prepare written responses to routine enquiries
    Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments etc.
    Prepare agendas for meetings and prepare schedules (include minute taking)
  •  Attend and contribute in department / division or organizational meetings / initiatives as required
  • Undertake any other duties as appropriate and within the post holders capabilities

Requirements (Minimum qualifications and experience):

  • Bachelor degree in Science, Economics, Food Technology or related field
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in related industry, program or project design and management and in areas related to standards and economic development.
